The Oklahoma Lottery has generated well over $1 billion to fund education initiatives across the Sooner State. As of 2024, 45% of the lottery proceeds went to fund K-12 education programs and 39.5% went to higher education. Monies from the lottery proceeds also go to the teacher’s retirement fund.
That is not a bad haul for a lottery that celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2025. The Oklahoma Lottery Commission was established in 2004 and the first tickets were sold in 2005.
Now, Oklahoma is part of several multi-state drawings and also has its own games for its players, so it is a growing organization and sports betting is possible in the future, though it remains to be seen if the lottery will have any involvement.
Players must be 18 or older in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Lottery Games
The OK Lottery offers six different draw games, including Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto America, and Lucky For Life. There are also scratchers and Fast Play games available at approved lottery retailers.
To this point, Oklahoma does not sell online or mobile lottery tickets, nor have they partnered with third-party sellers like Jackpocket or Jackpot.com. That could happen down the line, but tickets are only available at approved retailers as of now.
Oklahoma Lottery Draw Games
Powerball
One of the first things that Oklahoma did upon starting a lottery was join Powerball. That happened in the first part of 2006, as the state became part of the drawing that takes place on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. CT. Ticket sales are cut off about an hour beforehand on drawing nights.
With Powerball, five main numbers from 1 to 69 and a Powerball from 1 to 26 are selected. The Jackpot for this game starts at $20 million and grows with each result that does not include a grand prize winner.
Each play costs $2, but Oklahoma has a couple of add-on options. The first is the $1 Power Play, a multiplier for non-Jackpot prizes. The second is Double Play, which costs another $1 bill per play and enters players into a second drawing held after the main one. That game has a top prize of $10 million.
Mega Millions
Oklahoma joined Mega Millions in 2010 with a whole slew of U.S. states. This drawing is on Tuesday and Friday at 10 p.m. CT and each play costs $2. Players have the option of including the Megaplier for $1 extra to serve as a multiplier of non-Jackpot prizes.
Five numbers from 1 to 70 plus a Mega Ball from 1 to 25 are selected with this draw. The Jackpot for this game starts at $20 million and continues to grow. Ticket sales are cut off for this drawing about 15 minutes prior to the numbers being announced.
Lotto America
Like a lot of states in the Great Plains, the Oklahoma Lottery offers Lotto America for its players. This game is drawn on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:15 p.m. CT, with ticket sales cut off around 9 p.m.
This is another six-number draw game with five numbers from 1 to 52 plus a Star Ball from 1 to 10. Each play is $1 and an optional add-on for the All Star Bonus is available for another buck. This Jackpot isn’t as big as Mega Millions or Powerball, but still offers players a chance to win life-changing money.
The states that participate in Lotto America are Delaware, Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
Lucky For Life
The OK Lottery also offers Lucky For Life, a game with a grand prize of $1,000 a day for life. The second grand prize is $25,000 a year for life. So, once again, life-changing money!
This game is drawn nightly at 9:30 p.m. CT. This is another six-number draw with basic numbers from 1 to 48 and a Lucky Ball from 1 to 18. There are no bonuses or add-ons, as this game is a straight $2 per play.
This game is played in Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont and Wyoming.
Cash 5
Cash 5 is the $25,000 top prize lotto draw in Oklahoma. This is the state’s version of its own state-specific lottery with a five-number draw from 1 to 36. Each play only costs $1 and this game is drawn at 9:10 p.m. CT.
While a top prize of $25,000 might sound somewhat underwhelming, the taxes are paid, so the top prize is $25,000 on the dot.
Pick 3
Oklahoma also offers a Pick 3 once a day with a top prize of $500. Three numbers ranging from 0 to 9 are selected to make a three-digit number. This game is also drawn at 9:10 p.m. CT.
Each play costs $1 and that also means different wager types like Straight, Box, Front Pair, and Back Pair, which are all offered.
QuickTicket
QuickTicket is an exclusive game played in Oklahoma and tickets can only be purchased at Dollar General stores.
The game starts as a scratch-off, where players buy a ticket and scratch off numbers. Those numbers then become the numbers for the next draw date. Tickets are available for Powerball and Mega Millions separately at the cost of a normal play.
For example, you can get two plays for $4 and scratch off the numbers. Tickets are only sold in $4 and $10 denominations.
Oklahoma Lottery Fast Play Games
The OK Lottery offers Fast Play games at lottery terminals and vending machines. These are instant-win games where the computer determines your fate, as each game’s outcome is determined at time of purchase. Some of these games feature Progressive Jackpots, where a percentage can be won based on the dollar amount wagered.
Oklahoma offers Fast Play games in $1, $2, $3, $5, $10, $20, and $30 denominations. The lottery website and the printed ticket have the rules and the ways to win for each game.
Oklahoma Lottery Scratchers
The Oklahoma Lottery has some high-dollar scratch-off tickets. Scratchers, which feature a lot of seasonal and holiday themes across the state, start at $1 and go all the way up to $100.
In between, tickets cost $2, $3, $5, $10, $20, $30, or $50. The most recent $100 ticket called Deluxe Gold featured a top prize of $5 million. Games can be sorted from newest to oldest on the Oklahoma Lottery website and also on the Oklahoma Lottery Mobile App.
All game descriptions show the remaining prizes and the end date of the game.
Oklahoma Lottery App
The OK Lottery App allows players to create a digital Playslip that will produce a QR code that can be scanned to save time on buying tickets. It also serves as the online/mobile home of the Players Club, where players can accumulate loyalty points and enter various promotions. The app also serves as a ticket scanner.
However, the Oklahoma Lottery App does not allow for the purchase of mobile or online tickets. Tickets can only be purchased at an approved lottery retailer.
How To Claim Oklahoma Lottery Prizes
