Powerball
Ohio is one of 45 states to participate in the Powerball drawing. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
In Ohio, ticket sales end at 10 p.m. ET. Each wager consists of two sets of numbers, with the traditional five-ball drawing with numbers from 1 to 69 and the Powerball, which is from 1 to 26, as denoted by the red ball drawn as the final number.
The minimum ticket costs $2 and each ticket can include a $1 Power Play option for every $2 wagered.
The Ohio Lottery joined the Powerball pool in 2010.
Mega Millions
Ohio is one of 42 states to participate in the Mega Millions drawing. Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 11 p.m. ET.
In Ohio, ticket sales end at 10:45 p.m. ET. Much like the Powerball, each wager consists of five draw numbers and the Mega Ball. However, the five numbers range from 1 to 70 and the Mega Ball ranges from 1 to 25.
The minimum ticket costs $2 and there is a Megaplier option to add on for an extra $1 per every $2 wagered.
The Ohio Lottery joined the Mega Millions pool in 2002.
Lucky For Life
Lucky for Life is another draw game variant with five numbers and a “Lucky Ball”. Players who match all five numbers (from 1 to 48) and the Lucky Ball (1 to 18) win $1,000 a day for life. There is also a $25,000 annual prize for matching all five numbers, but not the Lucky Ball.
This drawing is held seven days a week at around 10:35 p.m. ET. Ticket sales end at 9:30 p.m. ET and each wager costs $2.
Lucky For Life is drawn in 22 states and was adopted in Ohio in 2015.
Classic Lotto
Ohio also runs its own single-state Classic Lotto, which is every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at about 7:05 p.m. ET. Ticket sales end at 7 p.m. ET.
With the Classic Lotto, players need to match all six numbers for the Jackpot, with no special ball drawn at the end. However, players can also “Say Yes to the Kicker”, which is a $1 side game that could net up to an additional $100,000 on top of the Jackpot amount.
The Kicker cannot be played separately.
Pick 3, Pick 4, and Pick 5
The Pick 3, Pick 4, and Pick 5 are twice-a-day drawings, with a Midday drawing at 12:29 p.m. ET and an Evening drawing at 7:29 p.m. ET, with the exception of Saturday, when the drawing is done live on the Cash Explosion TV show.
Players can make several different wager types here, rather than the other lottery drawings where the hope is just to get all of the numbers. With the Pick 3, Pick 4, and Pick 5, Wheel, Box, or Pair drawings are all available.
For the Pick 3, cash amount winnings range from $50 to $500 on a $1 wager with Straight, Wheel, Box, and Pair wager types available.
For the Pick 4, cash amount winnings range from $200 to $5,000 on a $1 wager with Straight and Box wager types available.
