Xaivian Lee Transfer Portal Update: Four Contenders Emerge for Elite Point Guard
The college basketball transfer portal heats up. Former Princeton star Xaivian Lee draws strong interest. Top programs now seek him. National analyst Travis Branham names Kentucky, Florida, Duke, and BYU as leaders. These schools show clear intent.
Lee also earns looks from North Carolina, Alabama, Stanford, and St. John’s. His case makes the recruitment fierce. Standing at 6‑foot‑4, Lee ranks as the 20th overall player. He is also the 8th top point guard in this offseason.
Branham explains Lee’s situation on the "College Basketball Show." He notes that Kentucky added Jaland Lowe yet still needs a scoring guard. Florida now faces a gap after Walter Clayton Jr. left. Duke watches player changes with care. BYU seeks guard talent and places Lee high on its list. Lee may decide in four to five days.
Lee began as a zero‑star recruit from Pennsburg, Pennsylvania. At Princeton, he earned back‑to‑back unanimous first‑team All‑Ivy League nods. During his junior season, Lee put up 16.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. These numbers show his play versatility. His shot work stands out, too. Lee made 43.9% from the floor and 36.6% beyond the arc.
Lee made history with his first two triple‑doubles. On December 3 against Saint Joseph’s, he reached 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. Later, he hit a career‑high 23 points, teamed with 10 rebounds and 12 assists against Pennsylvania. In his only game against a high‑major team, Lee tallied 21 points, six rebounds, 11 assists, and three steals against Rutgers.
When Lee entered the transfer portal, he thanked Princeton on social media. He wrote: "These past three years at Princeton have been the most meaningful of my life. This place has shaped me as a person and challenged me. It gave me a platform to chase my dreams and now Princeton is a place I know I can always call home. To my teammates — ya’ll know what it is. There’s no other group I would’ve rather gone through the ups and downs with. To the faculty, fans, and community — I wouldn’t be much without you. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to represent you; I have nothing but love and gratitude for the school."
As the recruitment heats up, all eyes focus on Lee and his next move in college basketball.
