Before UNCW, Obioha spent two and a half seasons at Niagara. In the 2023–2024 season, he earned MAAC Player of the Week honors. Obioha first joined Niagara midway through the 2021–2022 season and red-shirted. Before college, he starred at Hoxie High School in Kansas. There, he averaged 28.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. He scored over 1,000 points in his senior year. He earned two first-team All-MCL honors, first-team All-State honors, and was runner-up for the AA Player of the Year award.
Now, Obioha joins West Virginia. His skills and experience will help strengthen the Mountaineers as they build their roster for the next season.
