Shooting Star TJ Simpkins Transfers to Seton Hall: What It Means for the Pirates' Future

Shooting Star TJ Simpkins Transfers to Seton Hall: What It Means for the Pirates’ Future

John Spire on April 12th, 2025

TJ Simpkins Joins Seton Hall from Transfer Portal

TJ Simpkins left Elon University. He played shooting guard there. Now he joins Seton Hall. He entered the NCAA transfer portal and chose the Pirates. Simpkins will wear the Seton Hall jersey in the 2025-26 season.

His twin brother TK also left Elon. TK now plays for the University of Oregon. The twins choose different paths.

Last season at Elon, Simpkins scored 14.6 points per game. He grabbed 3.8 rebounds and gave 2.9 assists each game. He shot 40.8% from the field. He also hit 81.1% of his free throws. Though he was unranked by the On3 Industry Ranking, he stood out in high school at Liberty Heights Athletic Institute in North Carolina.

Seton Hall adds Adam “Budd” Clark next. He transferred from Merrimack. In his breakout sophomore season (2024-25), Clark averaged 19.8 points and 6.0 assists per game. He once scored 32 points in a game, a feat he repeated twice. As a freshman, he averaged 13.4 points and 3.9 assists. Clark brings two years of eligibility. A Philadelphia native, he played high school basketball at West Catholic Prep and won a state championship.

Seton Hall prepares for stronger seasons. Simpkins and Clark will build team competitiveness. For ongoing updates, check On3’s Transfer Portal resources on social media.
