McNeese State’s Frustrations Mount as Wade and Shumate Receive Technical Fouls Against Purdue
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – The McNeese State Cowboys played a tough game against the Purdue Boilermakers in the NCAA Tournament Round of 32 on Saturday. Coach Will Wade and forward Christian Shumate each got a technical foul. Their actions showed clear frustration.
In the second half, the Cowboys trailed by as much as 25 points. At that moment, Wade and Shumate both received technical fouls. Shumate got his technical foul after he fouled Purdue’s Fletcher Loyer. When the game stopped for a media timeout, he walked away from the officials and showed discontent. That reaction earned him another technical foul.
Throughout the game, Coach Wade spoke loudly against the referee calls. Less than five minutes into the second half, his words brought him a technical foul too.
With both leaders frustrated, the Cowboys now battle a tough opponent and their own rising anger. They hope to power their play and close the gap to earn a Sweet 16 spot.
