Florida State guard Chandler Jackson is ready to change his career. He now enters the NCAA transfer portal, as On3 reports. Jackson played three seasons with the Seminoles, and in that time he grew on the court.
Although Jackson started only two times in his first 60 games for FSU, he became key during his junior year. In the 2024–25 season, he started 27 out of 29 games. He averaged 6.3 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. He scored in double digits in five games. On December 17, he put up 14 points in an 82–64 win over Winthrop. In January, he scored 13 points against Pitt in one of his best outings.
Jackson comes from Memphis. He was a highly rated recruit. On3 placed him among four-star players; he is rated by many services. He ranked as the No. 89 overall player in the 2022 class and as the No. 13 combo guard.
Florida State ended the season with a 17–15 overall record and an 8–12 record in ACC play. Their journey stopped in the first round of the conference tournament when they lost 66–62 to Syracuse.
Jackson enters the transfer portal after head coach Leonard Hamilton retired. Hamilton led the Seminoles for three seasons and is a basketball legend with a career that spans back to the 1970s. After the loss in the tournament, Hamilton thanked the players. He said, "I’ve been blessed to have an opportunity that not many people ever have… Being a part of helping them grow and trying to give them some direction." Hamilton plans to help young athletes in the years ahead.
