The Nebraska men’s basketball team readies itself for Las Vegas. They compete in the College Basketball Crown. Meanwhile, the women’s team ended its season in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Fans at Pinnacle Bank Arena lose this year’s home games.
Anticipation grows for next season. Significant changes come soon. Nebraska Athletic Director Troy Dannen announces a major upgrade for the arena’s look. He chooses the beloved mascot, Herbie Husker, to lead the change.
Dannen explains that Herbie Husker will become the new halfcourt logo at Pinnacle Bank Arena. He replaces the scripted “Huskers” design. This update starts in the 2025–26 season.
Excitement grows for Herbie Husker’s new role. Earlier this year, the mascot received a modern look at the spring football game under head coach Matt Rhule. Herbie now wears updated attire. He holds up a No. 1 signal instead of the old “OK” sign.
Next season, the halfcourt logo will show Herbie Husker and the familiar state of Nebraska backdrop.
