Arizona State Signs High-Flying Four-Star Recruit Marcus Jackson
Arizona State University has signed Marcus Jackson. He is a four-star basketball prospect and ranks No. 81 in the 2025 class. Jackson stands 6‑foot‑8 and weighs 230 pounds. He brings strong athleticism and versatility to the Sun Devils men’s basketball program.
Jackson was once committed to the University of Maryland. He changed his mind when coaches changed. Head coach Bobby Hurley and his staff stepped in with a clear plan. Over 15 Division I programs sought him too. This interest shows his high quality and potential.
Jackson shined on the Under Armour Association circuit and at the Under Armour Elite 24 camp. He finishes strong at the rim and blocks shots well. He catches lobs and makes key defensive plays. He has also improved his face‑up game by adding mid‑range shots. These skills make him a well‑rounded offensive threat.
With this commitment, Arizona State now fills five high school slots in the 2025 class. The team also has Jaion Pitt, Kash Polk, Trevor Best, and Fridrik Leo Curtis. This signing fits the Sun Devils’ plan to boost depth and talent.
Adam Finkelstein, 247Sports’ Director of Scouting, shared his view. “Marcus Jackson is a long and athletic lefty big man with developing face‑up skills,” he said. Jackson can seem a bit small for a center. Yet, he makes up for it with impressive speed and agility.
On offense, Jackson is known for his finishing skills, strong lob-catching, and dynamic rim-running. His powerful moves can shift the game. Last year, he shot 65% on the UAA circuit and hit 44% on three-pointers. He made 16 three-pointers in 17 games and hit 69% of his free throws. One concern was his one assist against 18 turnovers.
Defensively, he blocks 1.4 shots per game and shows good mobility on ball screens. He is a vocal leader who keeps his team organized.
Arizona State builds toward a promising future. The addition of Marcus Jackson is a key piece in their quest for college basketball success.
