Amir "Aura" Khan Declines Transfer Portal, Remains Committed to McNeese State
Amir "Aura" Khan will not join the NCAA transfer portal. He spoke with ESPN’s Peter Burns on Sirius XM. He said he stays at McNeese State as a student manager for the basketball team. Rumors tied him to NC State after Will Wade became head coach. Khan clears the air with his simple words.
Khan made his choice after Coach Wade left McNeese State. Wade led the Cowboys to a strong NCAA tournament run. Even though Wade joined NC State, Khan will think over his options. He plans to talk with his family before choosing his future. "I’ll meet with my family and see what’s the best decision for me," he said. Khan leaves a small chance to return to the Cowboys.
Khan also works on Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals. Since the NCAA tournament began, he has made progress in these deals. He has 12 live deals with six-figure earnings. Khan will finish his sports management degree at McNeese State. He has big plans in athletics. Wade said he will mentor Khan as he starts his career.
