The Indiana Lottery is better known as the Hoosier Lottery, in honor of the Hoosier State. For a quick history lesson, the term “Hoosier” has been around since the 1840s and has been officially adopted by the state. So much so that it became the official demonym used by the U.S. Government Publishing Office in 2017.
So that’s why the Hoosier Lottery, which celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2024, is named as such. Lottery funds go to police and firefighter pensions, as well as the teachers’ retirement fund and the Lottery Surplus Fund.
Hoosiers must be 18 or older to play the Hoosier Lottery. While the state does have sports betting, horse racing, and casinos, those are all operated independently of the lottery.
Note: Most of Indiana is in the Eastern Time Zone, but a few counties do use Central Time. All draw times and sales cut-offs will be in ET, so just subtract an hour for CT locations.
Indiana Hoosier Lottery Games
Indiana has nine different draw games, including the multi-state Powerball, Mega Millions, and Cash 4 Life. Fast Play Games and Scratch-offs are also available for players to purchase at approved Indiana Lottery retailers.
While the Hoosier Lottery does have an app, ticket sales are not available online. The Hoosier Lottery also does not partner with Jackpocket or Jackpot.com, so the only way to get tickets is to purchase them in-person at an approved retailer.
Players can use the Hoosier Lottery app for the myPlayslip function to select their numbers and then scan the bar code at an approved retailer to get a ticket.
Indiana Hoosier Lottery Draw Games
Powerball
Indiana was one of the earlier adopters of Powerball. Seven states plus Washington D.C. started the game in 1988 as Lotto America. Indiana adopted the game in 1990 and it changed names to Powerball in 1992. Indiana is now one of 45 states to be part of the Powerball drawing.
Each Powerball play costs $2 and there is a $1 optional add-on for the Power Play prize booster. Drawings are around 11 p.m. ET on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Ticket sales are cut off in Indiana at 9:58 p.m. ET on drawing nights.
Players must select five numbers 1 through 69 and a Power Ball between 1 and 25. The rolling Jackpot starts at $20 million and increases until a grand prize winner is selected.
Mega Millions
Indiana is also one of 42 states to be part of the Mega Millions drawing. Each ticket costs $2 per play and there is a Megaplier add-on option for $1 to increase the size of the non-Jackpot prizes. Drawings are held around 11 p.m. ET on Tuesday and Friday. Tickets must be purchased by 10:44 p.m. ET.
Five numbers are selected ranging from 1 to 70 with a Mega Ball ranging from 1 to 25. All six numbers matched wins the Jackpot, which starts at $20 million and grows until that happens.
In Indiana, players can also play the Just the Jackpot option for two shots at matching all six numbers and winning the jackpot. Players with this option are only eligible to win the Jackpot, so matching fewer than six numbers loses.
Cash 4 Life
Cash 4 Life is a multi-state offering from the Multi-State Lottery Association. Indiana is one of nine states to offer this game.
Five numbers are selected from 1 to 60 and a Cash Ball number from 1 to 4 is also picked. The top prize is $1,000 a day for life paid out annually. Cash 4 Life drawings are held every day around 9 p.m. ET and ticket sales are cut off in Indiana at 8:45 p.m.
Hoosier Lotto +Plus
The Hoosier Lotto is exactly what the name implies. This is Indiana’s state-specific lotto drawing. Six numbers are selected from 1 to 46. Each play costs $2 and there is an optional add-on of the PLUS feature for $1 that serves as a multiplier for winning prize amounts.
Drawings are held Wednesdays and Saturdays around 11 p.m. ET and tickets must be purchased by 10:39 p.m. ET.
Ca$h 5 Plus EZmatch
This is a five-number lotto variant in Indiana with a daily drawing. Drawings are held at 11 p.m. ET and ticket sales cut off at 10:39 p.m. ET. Numbers range from 1 to 45 in this game and each play costs $1.
The EZmatch add-on is an extra $1 and could mean an instant-win prize ranging from $2 to $500.
Daily 4 with Super Ball
This is Indiana’s version of a Pick 4 draw, with a top prize up to $5,000. Drawings happen twice a day, with an early drawing at 1:20 p.m. ET and a late drawing at 11 p.m. ET. The amount of each play is up to the player, with denominations of 50 cents, $1, $2, $5, or $10.
Numbers ranging from 0 to 9 are selected for each spot and there is an optional Super Ball add-on for the same price as the base wager. The Super Ball replaces one of your drawn numbers to create more winning combinations.
You can play multiple draws on each line, with Straight, 1-Off, Box, Combo, Wheel, Front 3 and Back 3 to create additional combos with a chance to win.
Ticket sales are cut off at 1:10 for the early drawing and 10:39 for the late one.
Daily 3 with Super Ball
Like Daily 4, this is the Pick 3 style version of the daily draw game with three numbers. Numbers range from 0 to 9 and the Super Ball option is available for the same price as your base wager. Like Daily 4, each play costs 50 cents, $1, $2, $5, or $10, depending on the risk amount.
You can also play multiple draws on each line with Straight, 1-Off, Box, Combo, Wheel, Front Pair/Back Pair. Ticket sales cut off at the same times as Daily 4 and the drawings are held at the same times, 1:20 p.m. ET and 11 p.m. ET.
Cash Pop
Cash Pop is a game drawn five times daily, with Morning (9:30 a.m. ET), Matinee (1:30 p.m. ET), Afternoon (3:30 p.m. ET), Evening (7:30 p.m. ET), and Late Night (11:30 p.m. ET) drawings. Indiana is not the only state to run this game, but tickets purchased in Indiana only count for that drawing. Ticket sales are cut off 10 minutes before that specific drawing.
Wager options are $1, $2, $5, or $10 and you can choose to cover one or all 15 numbers in hopes of winning a prize. The drawing is one number and if you match that number, you win the randomly selected prize at the time your ticket is printed.
You can also play up to 28 Cash Pop draws if you wanted to.
Quick Draw with Bullseye
The best way to sum up Quick Draw with Bullseye is that it is Keno. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, or $5 and pick up to 10 spots. Matching all 10 spots wins the grand prize.
Players can pick up to 10 spots out of 80 numbers on the board, plus a Bullseye ball, which is an optional add-on. The game randomly draws 20 numbers with each drawing and drawings take place twice a day at 1:20 p.m. ET and 11 p.m. ET.
So unlike Keno in other states that may run around the clock for most of the day, Indiana’s version is only drawn twice.
Indiana Hoosier Lottery Fast Play Games

The specialty-themed tickets are often used as part of the my2ndChance promotion which is available for members of the Hoosier Lottery App.
There are also sweepstakes for fan experiences with the Pacers or Colts available, either as second-chance promotions or other marketing campaigns with no purchase necessary.
Indiana Hoosier Lottery App
As mentioned above, tickets cannot be purchased through app, but players can put together myPlayslips to have a simple bar code or QR code for the approved lottery retailer to scan in order to print out the ticket.
Players can also accumulate points that they can redeem for promotional giveaways or other prizes.
