The Arizona Lottery gives back to both players and programs and organizations that fund higher education, health and human services, environmental conservation, and economic and business development.
Founded in July 1981, the Arizona Lottery has given out more than $5 billion in prizes. The state participates in both Mega Millions and Powerball, along with state-specific draw games and instant-win scratch-offs.
Winning happens all across the state with the Arizona Lottery and you can even see a map on their website showing all of the $600+ major prizes winners over the last seven days.
Lottery players must be 21 and over in Arizona.
Arizona Lottery Games
The Arizona Lottery Commission based on Phoenix oversees six different draw games and dozens of scratch-off instant-win lottery tickets. Arizona is part of the multi-state Mega Millions and Powerball drawings, plus they offer the Arizona-exclusive Triple Twist, Fantasy 5, Pick 3, and “The Pick”, which is one of two six-ball, classic lotto drawings.
Arizona also offers several different varieties of scratch-offs, but there are also “Quick Draw” and “Fast Play” games available as well. New scratchers and different instant win games are offered monthly, so there are no shortage of exciting ways to win.
Arizona Lottery games can only be purchased through the state at one of more than 3,000 approved retailers. They do not offer online purchases via the state.
Arizona Lottery Draw Games
Powerball
Arizona is one of 45 states to participate in the Powerball drawing. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
Individual states are allowed to decide when to end sales for that evening’s drawing and the ALC cuts it off at 6:59 PM Arizona time from the second Sunday in March through the first Saturday in November and at 7:59 PM Arizona time from the first Sunday in November through the second Saturday in March. Remember, Arizona is one of the states that does not observe Daylight Savings Time, hence the difference.
Each wager consists of two sets of numbers, with the traditional five-ball drawing with numbers from 1 to 69 and the Powerball, which is from 1 to 26, as denoted by the red ball drawn as the final number.
The minimum ticket costs $2 and each ticket can include a $1 Power Play option for every $2 wagered.
Arizona joined the Powerball drawing in April 1994.
Mega Millions
Arizona is also one of 42 states to participate in the Mega Millions drawing. Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 11 p.m. ET.
Just like the cut-off for Powerball, the ALC cuts off sales at 6:59 PM Arizona time from the second Sunday in March through the first Saturday in November and at 7:59 PM Arizona time from the first Sunday in November through the second Saturday in March.
The classic lottery numbers in Mega Millions range from 1 to 70 and the Mega Ball ranges from 1 to 25.
Each ticket costs a minimum of $2 and a Megaplier is available as a $1 upcharge for every $2 wagered.
Arizona joined the Mega Millions in April 2010 as one of 29 states, plus Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands to join that year.
The Pick
The Pick is one of Arizona’s classic lotto games. Six numbers are drawn ranging from 1 to 44. Matching all six wins the Jackpot. Matching three or more is a winning ticket. “Quick Pick” is available for those who do not want to pick their own numbers and prefer to let the machine do it.
Each ticket costs $1 to play, however, there is an additional add-on for prizes called EXTRA!, which is $1 or $2 more for a chance to instantly win up to $250 or $500. With EXTRA!, the computer will randomly pick six additional numbers and if you match any one of them with your numbers for The Pick, you win the prize amount shown.
Drawings for The Pick are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday evenings. Sales for this draw stop at 6:59 p.m. local time, regardless of the time of year.
Triple Twist
Triple Twist is another traditional lottery variant with six numbers ranging from 1 to 42. Matching all six wins the Jackpot. Matching three or more is a winning ticket.
However, there are actually 10 different ways to win. That’s because two additional rows or six numbers are automatically selected by the computer. You can combine all three lines to see how many numbers you hit out of 18. If you match five or more numbers, you win, ranging from a $2 prize to a $2,000 prize.
Drawings of Triple Twist take place every day and ticket sales end at either 6:59 p.m. or 7:59 p.m., depending on the time of year, much like Powerball and Mega Millions.
Fantasy 5
The Fantasy 5 is another classic lotto game, but with five numbers drawn instead of six. Hit all five and win the Jackpot. Hit at least two and win something. Like The Pick, the Fantasy 5 has the additional EXTRA! add-on option for a chance to win up to $250 or $500 instantly.
The Fantasy 5 features 41 available numbers and the “Quick Pick” computer option is available or players can pick their own. Drawings are held nightly for the Fantasy 5, which costs $1 to play.
Sales end at 6:59 p.m. local time.
Pick 3
The Pick 3 seems to be a lottery staple across the U.S. Just like in other states, you pick a three-number combination from 000 to 999 and hope to nail the three digits.
The Pick 3 can be played Straight, a Boxed 3-Way or 6-Way, a Straight/Box, Front Pair, or Back Pair. Each variant has its own rules, like a Boxed 3-Way must have two of the same numbers as the same. A Boxed 6-Way must have three different numbers. The Front Pair or the Back Pair must match the front two or back two numbers drawn in order to win.
Drawings are held nightly with a 6:59 p.m. local time cut-off for tickets. Each ticket costs $1, but each of the six play types is classified as a different ticket.
Arizona Lottery Quick Draw Games
The Arizona Lottery has hourly games called Quick Draw that start at $1 and give players lots of chances to win. Each game has different bet options and fun add-ons, plus players can watch the drawings live on the Arizona Lottery website or as part of the Arizona Lottery Players Club app.
There are eight Quick Draw games currently offered by the Arizona Lottery.
One To Win
Players can Quick Pick or choose their own number from 1 to 15. The computer will spin a prize wheel and then select one of the 15 numbers. If you match that number, you win the corresponding prize amount.
Players can buy game tickets for $1, $2, $5, $10, or $20 and would multiply the prize amount by their wager amount to determine their winnings if their number pops up.
One To Win runs from 4:45 a.m. Arizona time until 11:45 p.m. Arizona time every day.
5/10/45
Players can Quick Pick or choose their own numbers here as well. There are 45 numbers available and players can pick up to five of the 45 numbers. The “Bullseye” option increases your odds of winning or the Super Bonus can be used to multiply your prize. Tickets start at $1.
Ten of the 45 numbers are selected and prizes are won by matching as many numbers as possible. Matching zero of the 10 numbers is worth $1, but players have to match at least three of the 10 numbers to win otherwise, if they select five numbers. Players can select anywhere from 1 to 5 numbers.
5/10/45 runs hourly from 4:15 a.m. local time to 11:15 p.m. local time.
5 In-A-Line
This is a Quick Pick game only. Five numbers will be randomly selected from single-digit numbers (0-9). The computer randomly selects a Super Bonus multiplier amount and five numbers are chosen. Tickets start at $1 and the goal is to match as many numbers in sequential order from left to right as possible.
Getting the first number is worth $2 on a $1 ticket, with escalating prize amounts that go as high as $5,000 for matching them all straight across.
5 In-A-Line is played hourly from 4:30 a.m. local time to 11:30 p.m. local time.
Lucky Links
Lucky Lines is a Quick Draw game that has some of the same hallmarks as Bingo. Players buy a $1 ticket and each ticket includes numbers that appear in a 3×3 grid with a “free” space in the middle. There is a Super Bonus multiplier option as a $1 add-on.
The way to win is to form two or more lines and it doesn’t matter if they are horizontal, vertical, or diagonal. There are 22 total numbers available, but this Quick Pick only game will randomly draw eight of the 22 numbers for players.
It takes at least two lines to win a prize. Players who match 7 or 8 lines win the grand prize of $25,000.
This game runs on the hour starting at 5 a.m. and ends at 11 p.m.
Two To Win
Two To Win is as self-explanatory as the name. You have a variety of ways to win and need to match up a two-digit number to have a winning ticket. Tickets cost $1, $2, $5, $10, or $20 per play and there is the $1 Super Bonus option once again.
Players will pick a two-digit number from 00 to 99 or the computer can assign one. Then you have to choose a bet type with Straight (sequential order), Box (both digits either way), Front Digit, or Back Digit.
Matching the number Straight wins $60 times your wager amount and any potential multiplier. A Box pays a base of $30, with Front and Back at $6 each.
This game runs hourly from 4:20 a.m. to 11:20 p.m.
Money Roll
Money Roll is a Quick Draw game of Yahtzee. This is a Quick Pick only game that costs $1 to play and has the Super Bonus $1 add-on.
The computer will randomly pick five dice and players need to match at least two dice in the same position to have a winning ticket. So, the dice must appear in order left to right on the game screen as they do on your ticket.
The top prize is $1,000 and this game runs from 4:50 a.m. to 11:50 p.m.
Hi-Lo
Hi-Lo is a guessing game where players can either use Quick Pick or select their own combination. It costs a minimum of $1 to play and the Super Bonus option is once again offered.
The game features 60 numbers, with 1-30 as “Lo” and 31-60 as “Hi”. Players can choose from one of the following combinations
- 0-4 Hi, 16-20 Lo
- 8 Hi, 12 Lo

- 5 Hi, 15 Lo
- 9 Hi, 11 Lo
